Event Plan 2026

We plan the event from Sunday, June 14th, 2026 to Friday, June 19th, 2026.
We intend to start in the afternoon of June 14th at the University of Mannheim, which can be easily reached by train from Frankfurt Airport, and we will finish on Friday 19th at KIT in Karlsruhe, from where you can reach Frankfurt Airport by train easily as well.

Abstract Submission

The abstract should be submitted as a PDF file, with a maximum length of half a DIN A4 page. There is no specific formatting requirement for the abstract. The presence of at least one author at the SMMSO2026 is mandatory.

Please note that the number of participants is limited due to capacity reasons. Therefore, it may be possible that not all applicants are accepted.

Authors whose presentation has been accepted are asked to upload a three-page extended abstract. To write the extended abstract, the authors must use the SMMSO 2026 conference template for the digital conference booklet:

available for Latex (preferred) and Microsoft Word. Please note that submissions not prepared using this template cannot be accepted. Both source files and the corresponding PDF must be submitted. Accepted abstracts will be published in the digital booklet of abstracts and presented at the conference.

Conference Start

If you are interested in attending this event, please register as early as possible. The number of participants is limited due to capacity reasons. Hotel rooms, seats in the restaurant, and slots in the conference schedule are limited. Therefore, it may be possible that late applicants cannot be admitted.

The conference will start in the University of Mannheim on 14 June 2026, with welcome registration from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. On-site luggage storage will be available, and luggage can also be dropped off earlier on the arrival day.

Conference Fees

Conference fees include bus transfers between Mannheim, Edesheim and Karlsruhe, accommodation in a historic castle with a beautiful park featuring vineyards and water features, coffee breaks, breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks during meals, gala dinner, social events. Participation in technical/scientific sessions is reserved for regular participants and students. Conference fees include 19% VAT.
